RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Attend school daily; arrive on time and present notes to explain absences.

Arrive to school prepared to learn.

Respect all students and all adults in the school community.

Keep the school property free from damage and harm and respect the property of the others

Keep the school clean and your own area clean.

Eat and play only in designated areas. Sweets, soda and “junk food” may not be brought to school.

No fighting, cursing, bullying or threaten behaviours to the others.

Leave personal items at home! Beepers, CD players, PSPs, Ipods, trading cards, games, weapons, laser pens, …….. are not permitted at school.

Mobile phones are to be turned off during school hours. Students are allowed to use mobiles phones before and after school only. These items will be confiscated and returned to parents only.

Walk quietly and in an orderly manner throughout the school area.

Wear appropriate school attire as determined by the dress code.

Follow the classroom, playground, lunch and safety rules.

No scooters, skateboards, wheelies, skates, bikes or motorized equipment permitted all over the school.

RULES AT SCHOOL

All schools , as all places where there are a lot people working together, have rules to be followed, for this is the best way we have to prevent problems and encourage students to learn how to be good citizens and responsible members of their community. We all know that we, teachers, have to educate on values that go beyond academic contents. We are convinced that a school is no longer a place where students learn maths or language; it is much more than this: A school is the first step for children and teenagers to reach the world of adults, it is where they will learn how to cope with society and the challenge of the teachers is to help them in this process.

The law tells us what rights and duties we all have, and these are some of the most important ones that we have in our school.

All students have the right….

1. to receive an education which will ensure the development of their personality.
2. to be respected in their beliefs, both moral and religious.
3. to be fairly qualified through exams, etc.
4. to participate in the school events, meetings, etc.
5. to be oriented academically and professionally.

All students must….

1. respect each other’s right to study and learn
2. attend lessons on time and justify absences.
3. attend school activities and excursions.
4. respect safety and hygienic rules.
5. behave properly whenever they are carrying out a school activity, both inside and outside school.

The people in charge to make these rules be obeyed are the teachers and ultimately the headmaster.

At the beginning of the school year, all students are given an agenda where they will write all their tasks and homework. This agenda also contains a list with all the rights and duties of our students in order that all the families know these rules.

When a student misbehaves, the teacher in charge writes the incident on a list. Thus, the tutor knows about it and may eventually take measures.

However, we must keep in mind that the purpose of rules is to make everybody’s lives easier, not the other way round!

Le demi-marathon Granollers – “La mitja marató”

Un autre évènement sportif de grande renommée c’est le demi-marathon de Granollers.
Il s’agit d’une course populaire de 21’1 Km qui parcourt la ville et villages voisins.
Cette année elle a été choisie par la Féderation Espagnole d’Athlétisme comme la meilleur course du pays dans sa catégorie.

Le premier Février 2009, la XXIII ème édition, a eu une participation de 5.500 athlètes. Entre les participants on a pu voir des recordmen du maximum niveau comme Haile Gebrselassie ou Samuel Wanjiru, médaille d’or à Pekín 2008 et vainqueur de la course de cette année, avec un temps de 1h 01’ ainsi que des citoyens qui s’entraînent pendant toute l’année pour le plaisir de courir et d’être en forme.

A propos, on a vu passer quelques profs de l’école! L’ambiance est très festive et l’organisation comme la participation du public magnifique.

SPORT À GRANOLLERS

La ville de Granollers a une longue tradition sportive, le premier club d’esport a été crée
en 1913, et ceux qui veulent faire du sport ont un grand choix d’activités pour pratiquer à diferents niveaux.

Sans doute l’esport roi c’est le handball. Le Club de Balonmano Granollers est le club de handball le plus ancien d’Espagne et le premier club espagnol à participer dans une competition européenne. En 1976 il a gagné la Coupe d’Europe des vainqueurs de coupe (deuxième compétition européenne derrière la ligue des champions). La liste des prix et succès esportifs est longue et dû à ce haut niveau sportif en 1992, la ville de Granollers, à 18 Km de Barcelone, a été choisie comme site officiel handball pour les jeux olympiques de Barcelone. C’est ici que l’on a joué le tournoi olympiquel et pour celà on a construit Le Palais des Sports, en plein coeur de la ville avec 6.500 places pour le public. Actuellement ce complexe sportif permet la pratique sportive d’haute qualité et la réalisation d’évènements culturels divers.

Spare time and hobbies

How do we celebrate Christmas in Granollers and in Catalonia?

Well, we do certainly have our own traditions! First of all we have "El Caga Tió".This is maybe the most Catalan tradition of all: It is a trunk that the children feed for a week or two before Christmas and on Christmas Eve, they beat it with a stick singing a song: " Caga tió, caga torró,d'avellana o pinyó".. ( Shit, old trunk, sweets made of hazel nut...) Then, the trunk "shits" little presents and Christmas sweets for all the children.

We also make "El Pessebre":
In most of the houses, people put small figures of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the holy child on scenes, as if it were Bethlehem 2000 years ago. However, some figures of Catalan tradition are always present: shepherds, priests and obviously: El Caganer (again, there is always a man shitting in all Pessebres) .We, Catalans, have a special attraction for all things related to going to the toilet!!!! But, the big presents are brought by the three Wise Men: They come on the fifth of January to all the houses were the children have behaved. If they haven't the Three Wise Men will only bring them some coal.
